27 April in South Africa is an incredibly special day. It signifies a day of freedom and a day that South Africa held its first fair and free elections.
To celebrate 28 years of democracy, it’s time to put on your running shoes and run for freedom.
Each year, Retail Capital Langa Running Club hosts its annual event – “Run for Freedom” – however, this year is dripping in extra special sauce as it aims to celebrate the late Desmond Tutu and his fight for freedom by creating a great space to ensure the wind cruises through your hair and you get your daily exercise.
Of course, one of the oldest townships in South Africa, Langa, will play host.
Whether you’re looking to stretch your legs or share your love for freedom, the Retail Capital Langa Running Club is offering a 6km or 10km flat route that is safely marshalled through the community of Langa. The event is endorsed by WPA and ASA, so make sure that you jump in on the action.
Another reason to support and join this event? The Retail Capital Langa Running Club aims to encourage a healthy lifestyle in previously disadvantaged communities such as Langa, with a particular focus on women and youth – what better reason than that?
Ready, set, go – book your tickets here.
