Home of the singing waiter, local entertainment like you’ve never experienced before. Bright lights, and a vibrant atmosphere. Stardust must be one of my favourite spots in the Mother City writes Cape {town} Etc’s Micayla Vellai, because the energy is on fire.
And now there’s a treat for Disney lovers (of all ages), with a magical dining experience and performances that feature music from:
- The Little Mermaid
- Moana
- Hercules
- Beauty and the Beast
- Frozen
- Lion King and more!
This highly anticipated show already has me humming to the tune of “Let it Go” and mourning the loss of Mufasa 27 years later. And now, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy this theatrical adaption in a vibrant Woodstock setting.
But this is no regular Disney show, because Stardust has managed to align their menu with the overall theme, and boy does their Mediterranean cuisine bring down the roof!
Here’s a little peek into the scrumptious meals in store as part of this 4 course dining experience:
Welcome and “Be Our Guest”
A classic reference from Beauty and the Beast. You can expect smoked brie and creamy mozzarella wrapped in phyllo pastry, served with balsamic tomato chutney.
And for vegans? They’ve got you covered! Delicious crispy green pea falafel served with Mediterranean tahina sauce and caramelized onion – yum!
Let’s Start with “The Bare Necessities”
As the song goes, “Forget about your worries and your strife” when you embark on a Stardust journey. Tender Ras El Hanout chicken skewer on a Paratha style flatbread, fresh rocket, Pico de Gallo and a side of tzatziki is part of this scrumptious course. Or try out a vegan and gluten free: Creamy chickpea masbaha topped with caramelized red onion, wild mushrooms served with homemade pita.
“Hakuna Matata” What a wonderful Phrase for Mains
Mains include choosing between slow roasted succulent beef sirloin and grilled line fish amongst the other options available. Roasted cauliflower pasta is also a hot commodity on this list.
Before you “Let it Go” taste the dessert
Malva pudding anyone?
There’s also an awesome Junior Menu (under 12 only) that features warm pita pockets, homemade burgers, malva pudding and a surprise at the end. Check out the full menu over here:
