Many Capetonians are beaming with pride following the announcement that the Mother City’s own Tamaryn Green, Miss South Africa 2018, is officially a doctor.

On December 2, Green took to social media to share the news that she obtained her MBChB degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Cape Town.

It’s been more than a year since Green first caught the attention of the nation with her beauty and outgoing personality while vying for the title of Miss South Africa 2018.

Since then, her schedule has been crazy but she has remained dedicated and worked hard to obtain her degree while fulfilling her duties as Miss SA.

At just 25-years-old, she has managed to achieve one of her biggest goals and prove her dedication towards doing good with her recently gained influence, especially in the medical field.

Being diagnosed with TB in 2015, the cause of those suffering with this affliction is one that is close to Green’s heart. She has promised to do her best to help destigmatise TB in every way she can.

She recently passed he podium to new Miss South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi, who we expect to see great things from as well.

Green is a shining example of hard work and unwavering determination and we’re happy to hear that she can now proudly replace her title of Miss South Africa with Dr Tamaryn Green.
