Galileo will officially open its drive-in cinema on Wednesday [July 15] with the first screening taking place at Meerendal Estate.

The company initially planned to reopen on July 4 at Spier Wine Farm but announced on their Facebook page that authorities intervened. The screening was cancelled last minute.

“For all those concerned about the curfew of 9pm, please note that movies will start at 6pm and be finished by 8pm – leaving more than enough time to get back home afterward,” they added on Facebook.

All health and safety protocols will be followed. Galileo has scheduled screenings until July 19, all at the same venue.

A range of food and drink will be on sale to order via Whatsapp and will be delivered to your car. Getting out of vehicles is strictly prohibited, except for using the bathrooms.
