The December holidays are filled with summer cocktails, warm weather, and fatigued parents. The school holidays can be a nerve-wracking time for parents looking to entertain their energetic kids, and sometimes sitting in front of the television watching Coco Melon just won’t do.
Thankfully, the Children’s Magic Festival is looking to bring a little cheer, laughter and give parents a bit of a magical break as they wave their wands and kickstart the December holidays. Hosted by The College of Magic, this whimsical fundraising event has been running since 1994. Unfortunately, the college had to take a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but this wand-derful event is back and ready to mesmerise audiences with a few enchanting tricks.
The event is set to take place over five days and will begin on December 14 – December 18 at the Victorian Manor in Claremont.
No magical event is complete without a theme, and attendees are urged to come dressed in their best with the Big 5 of the animal kingdom being the theme of the week, reports IOL.
So, what can those who look to inject their day with a little sorcery expect? An outdoor magic show performed by a few of the college’s talented young entertainers, a self-guided tour for those looking to discover a few optical illusions and enchanting discoveries.
This year is particularly special as the college is celebrating its 41-year anniversary of teaching the performing art of magic. Make sure you don’t miss this one-of-a-kind event!
