The Kirstenbosch Gift Shop is situated in the main Visitors’ Centre at one of Cape Town’s most spectacular locations, the world-renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden.
The shop caters to both local and international visitors and showcases a specially curated and unique selection of botanically inspired merchandise that celebrates the beauty and wealth of the Western Cape’s spectacular indigenous flora and fauna.
Ranges include fynbos essential oil-infused bath and body products such as wrapped soaps, bath salts and wonderfully fragrant body lotions and hand creams. The shop’s collection of homeware extends to vibrantly printed cotton kitchen linen and accessories, hand-painted ceramics, scented candles and a wonderful children’s gift selection that caters to the younger members of the family.
Entrance to the shop is free; it is open seven days a week and accepts all major credit cards and foreign currency. The gift shop also offers a comprehensive packaging, postage and shipping service to any local or international destination.
Due to popular demand, the Kirstenbosch Gift Shop has recently launched its own online shopping platform.
Newly launched online selections include a range of bespoke products by Ark Paper Studios. This local company specialises in generating designs featuring carefully revived historical and relevant archive material and translating these designs onto products such as cushion covers, table runners, tea towels and cosmetic bags.
They have also highlighted Cape Town’s own very talented artist and designer, Sharon Boonzaaier. Sharon has recently expanded on her current best-selling Cape Fynbos design collection, and the shop is excited to include these newly launched additions in-store.
For those of you who regularly enjoy a gentle weekend stroll in the gardens followed by an afternoon picnic under the trees, have a look at the range of picnic bags, cooler bags and picnic blankets by local company TraDishNal.
The Kirstenbosch Gift Shop supports local, and TraDishNal products are proudly 100% locally made. The company also supports local job creation and women’s empowerment in the Western Cape.
For those who prefer al fresco dining at home on their own garden patio, you can bring a touch of the Kirstenbosch Garden into your home. There is a range of wipeable tablecloths and placemats featuring the Cape sugarbird and orange-breasted sunbird that will certainly make your outdoor dining quite the celebratory experience.
