A new and luxurious safari-marine camp is launching in April 2019 along the Eastern area of the De Hoop Nature Reserve and will be the first property built in South Africa by the prestigious safari camp portfolio, Natural Selection.

A mere three and a half hours from Cape Town, the Lekkerwater Beach Lodge is an exclusive getaway, offering seven eco-lodges tucked away in the natural beauty of the De Hoop Nature Reserve and coastline.

The accommodation will offer a year round authentic beach and bush experience in a setting made to feel like home. The secluded location allows for a breakaway from the hustle and bustle of the city, guests can unwind as they take a walk along the pristine beach or visit one of the numerous natural rock pools nearby.

Natural Selection aims to build environmentally considerate and conscious accommodation services. The Lekkerwater Beach Lodge is an eco-friendly resort – all electricity generated is sourced from solar or wind power systems, grey water treatment is used and there is a zero single use plastic policy.

In keeping with their environmental friendly practices, majority of supplies and wines are sourced from producers within 64 kilometers.

The bedrooms and main areas are designed to welcome nature with uninterrupted views of the oceans accompanied by large glass sliding doors. Interior designs merge the ocean by incorporating blue tones and  natural elements such as woven baskets and earthy accents.

The historic Klipdrift caves are a mere eight kilometers away and is a the site where some of the earliest forms of modern human life were found, dating back to 64 000 and 100 000 years.

Whale Watching 

Located in the De Hoop Nature Reserve, Lekkerwater Beach Lodge is positioned for some of the best land-based whale watching, Southern Right whales and their offspring make their way to these waters from the Antarctic between July and November.

The beach lodge is located near to the De Hoop Marine Protected Area, an ocean game reserve where no fishing or marine exploitation of any form takes place. Guests are able to see a wide array of marine life from pods of dolphins to majestic whales.
