The Cape has no shortage of amazing wine farms to visit and with the plethora of options available, something a little different always makes for the best way to spend your day. Louisvale is all this and more.

Vineyards and wine farms are a part of the Cape’s history, entangled from generation to generation and while history should always be remembered, a modern touch that honours the past is the perfect way to do it.

The Lousivale Estate restaurant and venue is a landmark that stands out among the crisp green rolling hills and vines. One half of the building, made from wood, is built in the same way as a boat and added onto the stone portion of the building.

The modern half of the building pays homage to the abalone shell. The abalone was one of the main food sources of the Khoisan people who lived in the same area years ago. There are even ethically sourced abalone shell pieces embedded in the floors, so look out for the glints of light that reflect off of them when you visit this unique estate.

The beautiful venue is not only perfect for weddings or special occasions but offers the best views of the Stellenbosch mountains while you sip away at Louisvale’s award-winning wines and enjoy their decadent dishes.

Louisvale is famous for their unforgettable Chardonnay and you can enjoy a wine tasting in their contemporarily designed and decorated restaurant or on the sunny wooden deck under a tower tree for just R50 for 6 wines and R30 for their MCC.

Louisvale offers the perfect escape from the bustling city life in Cape Town. The breezy vineyards and laid-back vibe is nothing short of therapeutic and you’ll thank yourself for the visit without a doubt.
