Today was one of those days that it felt really cool to be a South African, and Kfm led the way. The radio station set out to raise R8 million for the Peninsula School Feeding Association (PSFA), a non-profit organisation that helps to address hunger in young learners and students attending primary, secondary and special needs schools.
The donation portal opened this morning, and we were on the edge of our seats all day. The #FeedingOurFuture campaign closed at 6pm.
Thousands became millions. But would South Africa see eight of those millions?
YES YES YES!
But Mzansi didn’t stop there. Donations kept flooding in, and at the end of the rally, a whopping R20 million is going to feed over 35 thousand children. This wouldn’t have been possible without LottoStar partnering with the radio station and pledging to match every rand contributed.
Cape Town has, quite literally, lit up. Hotel Sky, located on Lower Long Street, has flipped the switch on all of its iconic red lights to celebrate. Table Mountain, let’s see some lights!
What a lekker day to be in the Mother City.
