The latest addition to De Waterkant art scene, No 5 On Hudson is now officially open to the public. The gallery is spearheaded by SA local and former Miss South Africa, Sandy De Bruin and offers a contemporary and tasteful space to view refined, purposeful art and fine objects.

The elegant new gallery will allow visitors the opportunity to take in themes such as, Women and Art and Shades of Grey. Owner, Sandy De Bruin, has created this platform to focus on empowering and uplifting female artists in South Africa. While discussing the process of piece selection for the gallery, Sandy explained, “My focus is not only on beautiful and meaningful art, but how the pieces translate into our environment and how it fits into our aesthetic space.”

Sandy has always had a fondness for fine art, but her passion for painting was recently revived while living in London, as she acquired new appreciation for the art.

“South African Artists are incredibly talented and inspirational. They often stand out on the international stage, as is testament to the enormous number of art pieces sold overseas,” notes Sandy. “I want visitors to No 5 on Hudson to be embraced in an experience that heightens the visuals senses and provides an appreciation for art in a space contemplated by soul and design.”

The gallery is open from 10am – 5pm from Mondays to Fridays and 9am – 1pm on Saturdays.
