Simon’s Town is the latest Capetonian suburb to join the movement and welcome a brand new zero-waste store, aptly named The Conscious Co-Op.

Located on St George’s Street, this sustainable store offers locals the chance to buy groceries and goods without the plastic waste, encouraging residents to live a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle.

The store’s name itself carries the message that by consciously co-operating with nature, we can bring about change for the better.

As well as fresh produce and glass containers for storing goods, you can buy sustainable vintage clothing, home accessories and pot plants.

The Conscious Co-Op is the sister store to Muizenberg’s The Daily Goods Store and offers the same quality of service and fresh, friendly vibe.

So be sure to do a little (or a lot of) sustainable shopping the next time you’re in the area and support the growing zero-waste movement.
