The Bailey on Bree Street has opened the doors of its ground-floor bistro to offer a more accessible fine dining experience to locals and visitors.
The Bailey serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, but it’s the dinner option that is set to be the main event this summer.

The menu at the Bistro is designed to offer a more informal, accessible dinner option than the Brasserie on the first floor.
The restaurant’s proprietor, Chef Liam Tomlin, says: “The Bailey offers something for everyone. At the Brasserie on the first floor, we have created an authentic French dining experience, but on street level, the Bistro invites diners to pop in for a drink and a snack, or to book a romantic dinner for two that won’t break the bank.”
The perfect date night begins with a cocktail on the terrace overlooking bustling Bree Street or seated at the marble-topped, long bar counter set deep in the heart of the elegant café restaurant.
The elegant interior features a glamorous crystal chandelier, café tables and plush banquette seating that sets the scene for a delicious dinner at the Bistro, where diners may feast on their choice of light meals or bistro classics.
Head Chef Asher Abramowitz presents the Bistro’s diners with a French-inspired menu that includes specialities like dry-aged sirloin steak, café de Paris butter-roasted line fish, baby fennel, and bitter leaves. Also included on the menu are confit chicken legs with courgette, colcannon, peas, and tarragon; and aubergine and tomato gratin.
Lighter options include French onion soup, roasted bone marrow with herb salad and pickled shallot, mussels marinière steamed with white wine, butter, and parsley, and chicken Caesar or Niçoise salad.
After or instead of dessert, head to The Old Bailey Bar Lounge’s top floor for a decadent liqueur nightcap.
There are plenty of drinks to choose from, like cocktails, wine, and spirits like whiskey, that fit all tastes and budgets.
The lounge’s cocktail list includes the signature gin cocktail Blush Bree, Cosmo and Aperol Spritz, to name but a few. A selection of craft beers and a selection of 15 local wines are available by the glass.
Ambient lighting and deep velvet sofas around the grand piano create a “clubby” but sophisticated atmosphere.
Talented musicians entertain the crowd on weekend nights to end an unforgettable night out on the town.
