World-renowned director and producer Ridley Scott chose Cape Town as a one of the major locations of HBO Max’s latest show, Raised by Wolves. The sci-fi series centres around two androids who are tasked with raising human children in Kepler-22b after the Earth is destroyed during a great war.

Kepler-22b’s real-life location is Cape Town, and is also the home of a colony of humans dealing with their own internal group conflict who come into contact with the androids.

Scott is known for his work on cult-classics such as Alien, Blade Runner and Gladiator. He directed the first two episodes of Raised by Wolves, and served as executive producer for the rest of the season. A large part of the series was also filmed at the Film Afrika studios in Cape Town, as well as other locations across the Western Cape.

Be sure to keep an eye peeled as you watch the show to spot legendary Cape landmarks such as the Green Point Stadium. The series launched on September 3.
