The seasons have changed for the warmer, and Capetonians and travellers alike love to see such. While many may immediately think “beach”, we invite you to extend your exploring a little more creatively.
October will see Franschhoek putting its best foot forward with two summer loving events: namely Art Franschhoek and the Franschhoek Open Gardens Festival.
From October 22-24, a visit to Franschhoek could include an artistic treat as galleries open their doors for the Art & Wine In Franschhoek event. The entire weekend is dedicated to showcasing stunning pieces and exhibitions. The galleries are diverse, which means the connoisseur and the amateur can both enjoy art to their taste – and of course some wine to pair.
Teaming up with a wine farm, the art of being happily buzzed is also on the agenda if you please. Restaurants, accommodation and the like are all ready to welcome you with open arms for your visit. The path is yours to choose. Take a stroll along the village’s main road where galleries are in walking distance from one another, or view the artworks at the wine farms themselves!
On display:
- The Gallery at Grande Provence
- La Motte Museum
- Art in the Yard
- EBONY/CURATED Bordeaux House
- Everard Read Gallery
- Oink At Farm Sanctuary SA
