Recently, an act of chocolate-filled kindness has gone viral. The chocolate champion opting to scatter KitKats as much-needed ‘pick-me-ups’ amongst UCT students preparing for exams sent a delicious message of encouragement across the student kingdom. Said champion? None other than the UCT Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng.
The video has garnered over 178.2k views on Twitter.

I popped into the library last night at around 10pm to deliver @kitkatsa to students who were hard at work studying. Check the reaction of these 3 students. The second one is just special! I love @UCT_news academics, support staff & students – diverse, gifted & super amazing! pic.twitter.com/J1ynwLJxiL

Professor Phakeng expressed in another tweet that she ventured around the building to other study spaces to bless students with chocolates in a response to a student who said that Kramer’s Law Library got all the love.
She also gifted an entire exam goodie pack to a student who loves making memes of her, whom she dubbed her “stan”.
Kindness manifests in small ways, and it’s always wonderful when it comes from the top. The story even caught the attention of KitKat, who said:
@FabAcademic, this is absolutely amazing and so thoughtful of you. ❤️ A break is always needed no matter how big or small. May you kindly DM us the area you are based, your contact number and email address so we can see what we can do. ☺️ #WhatADifferenceABreakMakes
