First staged in 2004, the Absa Cape Epic is one of the toughest mountain bike races on the planet with five categories and bikers from around the world who compete.
According to Bike Perfect, the race is also referred to as ‘Tour de France’ of mountain biking. What makes the race so unique is that teams consist of two riders who ride alongside professionals on the same route. The route is 700 km and 16 000m of vertical ascent over a period of eight days.
THIRSTI has quenched the thrilling excitement for all 600 cyclists and this year’s race was surely one to be remembered. Riders are set to tackle a pump track which is positioned on a dam wall that separates two dams, followed by a very scenic floating water bridge, reports Cape Epic.
