Get your sunscreen out and make sure you’ve got a hat ready Mother City as it’s going to be a hot weekend in Cape Town with temperatures in some areas soaring into the 30s.

In Cape Town, residents can expect a high of 28°C on Saturday, February 29 with lows of 16°C. On Sunday temperatures will dip slightly but still stay in the high 20s, with a high of 25°C and a low of 16°C.

In areas further inland, as well as the Cape Winelands temperatures, are expected to tip into the mid to high 30s with strong winds forecast throughout the weekend. In the Cederburg area, temperatures will hit highs of 38°C and possibly even higher.

While Cape Town expected hot weather the Mother City’s dam levels continue to dip.

Overall water storage is at 65.2% as of February 27 with the lowest dams being Voëlvlei at 63.8% and Wemmershoek at 64.3%.

So remember to plan accordingly Cape Town and don’t forget your sunglasses wherever you’re going.
