The South African Weather Service (SAWS) reports that thunderstorms along the coast have caused temperatures to plummet in parts of the Western Cape, resulting in a cold front. Citizens will have felt the icy dip from Tuesday night, continuing into Wednesday morning.
A 30% chance of rain will see temps drop to 13-degrees in Cape Town — brrr! “Temperatures on the Western and Eastern Cape coasts will still be cool by Saturday, after which they will gradually recover from Sunday,” the Weather service said, as per IOL.
The wet weather will then move to the north coast of KwaZulu-Natal.
The rains have arrived, and with it, an official start to winter.
