Winter is clearly not over and with the cold front and expected rainfall, snowfall is on the way. Snow Report has predicted that snow for the Western Cape will make landfall in the early hours of Tuesday morning to Wednesday, on the high peaks of the mountainous areas.

Snow Report expects most snow to fall along the Sneeukop area and just outside of Wellington. An estimated 15cm of snow is possible and heavy snowfall is not expected on the lower lying areas.

Snow will initially fall on the Hex River Mountains on Tuesday with an expected movement of the cold front causing possible light snowfall on the high peaks from Stellenbosch to Citrusdal on Wednesday.

Visitors can head to the peaks of the Matroosberg Nature Reserve as an expected 7cm – 10cm of snowfall will fall from today until Wednesday.

Langeberge and the Swartberge areas will experience light snowfall on the high peak areas and all snowfall is expected to end late on Wednesday afternoon.
