Snow seekers might be in for a lovely white weekend in the Matroosberg area near Ceres as light snow is predicted to fall on Saturday night [August 8].
A “dusting of new snow” and freeze-thaw conditions are expected, according to Mountain Forecast. An icy minimum temperature of -2°C is on the cards for Saturday night, which could usher in a frosty late winter morning on Sunday, August 9.
Those venturing out of the City to see the snow are urged to dress warmly and drive safely, as near gale force winds from the northwest are predicted to blow by Saturday afternoon.
The rest of this week will be sunny or partly cloudy in the Mother City with mild to cool temperatures. Friday [August 7] is expected to reach the high of the week with 18°C according to Weather.com.
