More rainy weather is brewing for the weekend, and although it’s going to be a gloomy Saturday locals can expect significant downpours that are sure to boost the Cape’s dams levels even more.

Many locals were somewhat disappointed when the bountiful rain expected to fall throughout the day on Thursday, July 4 only came through in the late afternoon in some areas and the evening in others, but residents need not worry as more is in store.

Saturday will bring rains expected to start as the sun rises, as well as highs of 15°C and lows of 13°C accompanied by some wind.

The rains are expected to continue throughout the day and more will make its way to the Mother City again on Monday.

Locals can expect scattered showers at the start of the week as well as highs of 16°C and lows of 11°C.

Dam levels are nearing the 60% mark and many are hoping the weekend will significantly push up the overall water storage.
