The Mother City can look forward to more rain this week, and we are thrilled at the forecast.

The week starts off with a sunny Monday bringing highs of 18°C and lows  of 12°C, leading into a mostly sunny Tuesday with roughly the same temperatures.

On Wednesday the weather shifts and there is a 70% chance of rain with a high of 17°C and lows of 14°C. Thursday will be a partly cloudy day with a 10% chance of scattered showers during the day.

Friday to Sunday will be warm and partly cloudy with average highs of 22°C and lows of 13°C.

The extra rain comes at the perfect time, as Cape Town dam levels dropped well below the 50% full mark. The last reading on May 3 showed the storage levels at 46.7%.

Dams that are currently at the lowest storage capacity in 2019, these readings include the Theewaterskloof dam at 36.6% and the Steenbras Lower dam at 40.3% full.

Locals are advised to dress warm and carry their umbrellas along on their daily commute on Wednesday and Thursday just in case.
