Capetonians are used to generally hot weather with a side of wind lately, but tomorrow will bring cooler temperatures as well as some rain for Cape Town, the first showers the Mother City will have seen in a while.

Lower temperatures are expected from Tuesday morning going into Wednesday, with highs of 19°C on both days and a low of 15°C on Tuesday and 16°C on Wednesday.

Tuesday will bring scattered showers, which are hoped to improve dam levels in the Cape as they continue to decrease due to the summer weather.

As of February 22, Theewaterskloof storage is at 42.9%, with Steenbras Lower following close behind at 54.2%.

Dams with the highest storage levels include Berg River at 76.7% and Steenbras Upper at 70.1%.
