The Mother City is in for a hot week followed by some much-needed relief in the form of a rainy Sunday according to SA Weather Service forecasters.

Before the week ends in cool temperatures and sublime rainy weather, Cape Town is expected to heat up as the new week begins.

Locals are in for a scorcher of a week as Tuesday, February 11 and Wednesday, February 12 will hit highs of 27°C, and lows of 18°C and 17°C respectively. Both days will be sunny, and without a cloud in the sky.

Moving into the last two days of the work week, Thursday, February 13 and Friday, February 14 will be warm but partly cloudy, bringing highs of 23°C and 22°C paired with lows of 17°C and 16°C.

Saturday, February 15 will be a slightly cooler day with a high of 21°C and a low of 16°C coupled with partly cloudy weather.

Finally, as Saturday moves into the last hours of the evening rainy weather will be ushered in continuing into Sunday.

“Rain is expected through the night on Saturday into Sunday clearing up later in the day,” says SA Weather Services forecaster, Kate Turner.

Locals are advised to prepare for the hot weather ahead and to keep the rainy conditions in mind for their Sunday plans as temperatures will dip to 21°C with lows of 15°C.
