Prepare for a rainy Saturday, Mother City. Forecasts predict Cape Town is in for a rainy start to the weekend with temperatures dipping and clouds rolling in.

After a sunny Friday with a high of 23°C and a low of 17°C, Saturday, February 22 will bring cool temperatures, allowing locals to enjoy a break from the recent heat.

Saturday will usher in showers throughout the day with a high of 20°C and lows of 16°C, wind speeds are also expected to increase to 43km per hour.

Temperatures will increase again as of Sunday, February 23, hitting a high of 26°C with a low of 14°C.

Monday, February 24 and Tuesday, February 25 will bring some of the hottest temperatures experienced in the Cape for a while, with a high of 27°C on Monday and a high of 28°C on Tuesday.

Dam levels have dipped below the 70% mark at 66.8% as of February 20. Steenbras Upper dam is the fullest at 98.8% with Berg River close behind at 79.7%.

Rain is always welcome in the Cape especially in the summertime and we’re hoping this weekend will be as bountiful as expected.
