The Mother City is in for a rainy start to the weekend this week, as the forecast predicts scattered showers throughout Friday, May 15.

Cooler temperatures are in store for Cape Town this week with Monday, May 11, starting off with mostly sunny conditions paired with a high of 21°C and a low of 15°C.

Moving into the rest of the week, Tuesday, May 12 will be one of the coolest days of the week bringing a high of 18°C and a low of 15°C with mostly cloudy skies.

Wednesday, May 13 and Thursday, May 14 will offer similar weather conditions with partly cloudy skies. Wednesday will experience a cool low of 11°C and a high of 19°C, while Thursday will heat up with a low of 12°C and a high of 21°C.

Friday, May 15 will finally bring some scattered showers to Cape Town with a high of 18°C and a low of 11°C.

As we look forward to some rain this week, dam levels are doing well, especially when compared to last year.

Overall water storage is at 54.9% with the fullest dam, Steenbras Upper at 96.6% full. Last year this time dam levels were almost 10% lower at 46.5% with the fullest dam being Berg River at 67.9%.

After Friday, dam levels could experience a boost while we enjoy the weather indoors.
