Cape Town is in for a rainy end to the week and can expect welcomed downpours to usher in the new week from Monday, August 10.

Capetonians can look forward to a sunny Friday, August 7 to start off the weekend, with a high of 17°C and a low of 9°C.

Saturday, August 8 will shift to offer cloudy conditions with surprisingly warm temperatures. Locals can look forward to a high of 20°C and a low of 13°C.

Sunday, August 9 will finally bring the much-anticipated showers of the week, paired with a high of 16°C and a low of 12°C.

Monday, August 10 and Tuesday, August 11 are predicted to bring rain to the Mother City as well.

While predictions could change, Monday is expected to bring scattered showers and a high of 16°C as well as a low of 12°C. Tuesday is also expected to bring rain and a high of 15°C along with a low of 10°C.

Snow has been predicted for a number of areas in the Western Cape so locals should be prepared for a the extra chill in the air this weekend.
