The weather in the Mother City has been pleasantly mild over the past week or so. This coming weekend, however, residents are advised to get their umbrellas ready once again, as rain is expected to pour down on Cape Town.

According to weather reports by the SA Weather Service (SAWS), the week starts out pleasantly as the sun will be out and bright on Monday, November 2 with a maximum temperature of 31°C.

On Tuesday, November 3, temperatures will be slightly lower and overcast skies are predicted. Temperatures will range between 18°C and 25°C.

Temperatures will drop even further on Wednesday, November 4 and Thursday, November 5, with maximum temperatures ranging between 23°C and 22°C respectively.

Friday, November 6 is expected to be chilly as temperatures drop to 20°C, a far cry from Monday’s 31°C. According to predictions by SAWS, there is a 30% chance of rain and this may equate to 3mm of precipitation. Wind speeds will be low, with only 9km per hour.

On Saturday, November 7, the chance of rain doubles to 60%, with temperatures ranging between 15°C and 18°C.

The probability of rain decreases to 30% again on Sunday, November 8 with temperatures ranging between 14°C and 18°C.
