There will soon be a chill in the air as the Western Cape is expecting some snowy weather conditions this coming week.

“We are looking at a VERY exciting week next week. The week is going to start off with a weak cold front on Tuesday followed by a STRONG front on Thursday,” says Storm Report.

“We are expecting the front on Thursday to sweep across the country bringing heavy rainfall to the Western Cape, moderate rainfall over the Western parts of the Northern Cape and SNOW over the mountains of the Western Cape, southern parts of the Northern Cape, Eastern Cape, southern parts of the Free State and Lesotho.”

High-lying areas like Matroosberg are in for especially chilly temperatures starting next week.

According to Matroosberg Reserve, the area is expecting more snow next weekend and they are welcoming guests for leisure accommodation.

Three days of rain and below-freezing temperatures are on the cards for Matroosberg next week, these are expected to bring the possibility of snow as well.
