It’s been an eventful weekend in the Western Cape. A cold front that swept over the province from Friday, brought wide-spread rainfall and even snow in many areas. Pictures and videos of snow on the Franschhoek Mountains, Matroosberg, Somerset West, Matroosberg, Ceres, Sutherland, Paarl and as far as Swellendam circulated on social media. The highlight of day was the heavy snowfall on Table Mountain, which was captured by Table Mountain Cableway.

Visitors on top of the mountain built snowmen and revelled at the sight. It is the second time in a few years that snow fell on the mountain top, and it doesn’t happen too often.

If you want to head out and catch a glimpse of the snow, here’s where to go…
