One such event is the Makers Halaal Market which will be happening throughout Heritage Weekend in the heart of one of Cape Town’s most beloved foodie hotspots: Makers Landing. A melting pot of flavours combining the perfect balance between local is lekker and exotic flair – pretty much exactly what South Africa’s essence is like.
So what better way to spend the weekend than celebrating our South African-ness the best way we know how: with great food, a bit of shopping, entertainment, and an all-round good time.
What can we expect?
Curated by Conscious Meat Merchants, the Halaal Market will embody a taste of Cape Town’s halaal scene. Join them in celebrating premium artisans across the spectrum of food, design, art, fashion, music and entertainment bound together by the diverse Makers Landing community that’s like-minded, passionate, with a similar dedication to their craft.
The market will features around 45 vendors including brands such as Aniseeds, Dumpling Girl, Pomegranate Wellness, Gadija Khan and Zaakira Ashtiker.
Makers Landing tenants will also be open at the same time and visitors are able to attend demo class workshops hosted by Sweet Lion Heart, Bread Bar, Charming Chef, Moses Coffee and Zayaan Khan in the Cruise Terminal.
Expect some amazing food, some innovative minds and a constant straddle between traditional foods and more experiential ideas.
