Waterford Rose-Mary is a proud part of an estate collection. It is an elegant blanc de noir made from shiraz, mourvèdre, malbec, cinsaut, tempranillo, and sangiovese grapes.
For lovers of Chenin Blanc, the Waterford Old Vine Chenin Blanc is made from grapes sourced from some of the oldest Chenin Blanc vines in Stellenbosch, dating as far back as 1966. To preserve the purity of the fruit, berry bunches are hand-harvested in the early morning and pressed whole.
These old vines allow for tremendous layers of complexity on the palate and are a true ode to the rich soils of the region.
The Waterford Estate Chardonnay is a singular wine produced from a special and unique vineyard on the property. The vines were planted in 1988, making it one of the oldest chardonnay vineyards in the country.
It was also recently named one of WineMag’s “Top 10 Chardonnays in South Africa.”
Waterford Estate’s Grenache Noir is classical in style and grown in the region.
It’s the ideal accompaniment to a sunset toast or alfresco dining on balmy evenings, and it’s quickly becoming more popular in South Africa, following its international acclaim as one of the world’s most planted red cultivars. The grape is a common cultivar and is used to make everyday drinking wine in Europe, where it’s commonly served chilled.
For those who prefer a hearty red and are searching for the ideal accompaniment for their outdoor summer braais and steak dinners, you’ll find your perfect match in the Waterford Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. The red ranks as the estate’s leading varietal thanks to the optimal terroir of the area, which aids in creating distinguished wines that are characterised by earthy aromatics, well-textured tannins, and fresh finishes.
All wines are available via the online store, with delivery available throughout South Africa. Patrons who live nearby are invited to purchase on-site and at cellar door prices while enjoying a tasting experience of their preferred varietal.
Gifting is made easy thanks to the estate’s bespoke packaging, which takes care of any last-minute gift-wrapping stresses.
Finally, there’s the Wine Drive Safari, a unique 3-hour trip on the estate’s Land Rover through the beautiful slopes of the Helderberg mountain. On this trip, you’ll be led by an expert through all the things that make the area so biologically diverse and viticulturally unique. You’ll also get to try a number of award-winning estate wines in the vineyards where they were made.
From arrival bubbles to platters of gourmet gold to a Waterford Estate wine and chocolate tasting, it’s the ultimate experience and an unrivalled gift for a special occasion.
The Wine Drive Safari is available as a thoughtful gift voucher for loved ones this holiday season. For more information, contact the tasting room team.
