#HighburyHearsYou – we at Cape Town Etc are passionate about getting local restaurants back and booming in business. As part of our #HighburyHearsYou initiative, we’re dishing out the deets on some incredible restaurants in and around town.

Cape Town’s Foreshore has seen a number of developments spring up over the past few years, and older buildings have been refurbished to meet the needs of the modern business-oriented consumer.

WINK Aparthotel Foreshore is one of the hidden gems located in the area. This portmanteau indicates a mixture of a hotel and apartment, and it’s the very best combination of both.

Walking through the square the Aparthotel is found on is like being in the centre of a changing district. The Foreshore is known as Cape Town’s traditional business hub, where pedestrians are frequently seen wearing suits and carrying briefcases. Over the years, however, this has changed to cater to the more millennial consumer.

The Aparthotel is fully COVID-19 regulation compliant. Even before entering, the managerial staff on duty will contact you via WhatsApp with the list of stay rules and an electronic check-in system link. This takes no more than a few moments to complete and is just a taste of the accommodation’s high efficiency and smooth operating system.

WINK Aparthotel Foreshore has kept up with the times and has also put measures in place to ensure that its guests are safe and do not endanger others with a list of COVID-19-related rules. Only two guests are allowed to stay in a room at any given time, and no guests are allowed to visit the rooms. At the check-in desk, guests are required to have their hands sanitized and ensure they are wearing masks before their temperatures are checked.

The check-in process is smooth and a porter will show you up to your room.

There are two room options and guests can choose between a Studio Apartment option or Superior Studio Apartment during the booking process.

There are 18 Studio Apartments in the building, and each is 35sqm in size. All units are all fitted as self-catering, with kitchenettes and the open plan bedrooms with king-size beds all have en-suite bathrooms with showers.

Each room is well equipped to suit the life of a modern business person, as there is a desk along with various ports to ensure a laptop can be plugged in for work. All rooms in the Aparthotel are granted access to high-speed WiFi, which works without a hitch, and a Smart TV from which streaming platforms such as Netflix or Showmax can be accessed.

The beds are king-sized, so you have more than enough space to sleep in whichever position you choose. While the Aparthotel is situated in a fairly busy part of the city, no noise permeates through the windows to distract you or keep you up at night.

Each of the 12 Superior Studio Apartments comes with large step-out balconies overlooking the beautiful Pier Place Square and its life-size bronze statues that fill the square with life. Each Superior Studio is 40 – 50sqm.

While all apartments are self-catering, guests have the convenience of WINK Café just downstairs. The café serves an assortment of meals, and we recommend choosing the Continental Breakfast offering after a night of wonderfully restful sleep.

Breakfast hours are between 7am and 10am, and all food is served fresh.

Leaving the WINK Aparthotel Foreshore will have you wanting to return as soon as possible – the rooms are comfortable, the food is delicious and the beds are warm and comfortable.

There is currently a special running for R390 per evening, per person sharing. That can be checked out HERE. Visit their website HERE.
