Cape Town’s Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa is the best place to experience unique art from all over Africa, but with seven exhibition floors, a visit to the museum can definitely be overwhelming if you’re not familiar with its galleries and layout.

Thankfully, the Zeitz MOCAA has launched its very own Instagram map to help guide visitors through each floor and every artwork on display.

The map is constantly changing and evolving along with the museum’s exhibitions and the pieces on show. It offers users an immersive experience and a handy tool for finding their way around.

All seven floors are featured on the page and broken down into smaller segments by multiple images displaying the works of art to be found on each.

A total of two hours can be spent following the tour via the Instagram map, which also features additional information on the museum’s latest exhibits.

Zeitz has also uploaded highlights of favourite Instagram spots throughout the museum, a great tool if you’re planning to get a photo for the ‘gram.

Another highlights section on the page shows information on what visitors can expect to find in the museum’s store, which is helpful if you’re looking for a particular gift or item.

The Instagram Map also keeps you in the know when there are museum installations in progress.

As always, visitors are advised to start their tour on the top floor and work their way down. Why not change up your art-viewing, museum-exploring experience and give Zeitz’s Insta Map tour a try the next time you go to get your dose of contemporary art.
