The  Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) in Cape Town, designed by architect Thomas Heatherwick of Heatherwick Studios, was one of the winners of the 2018 World Architecture Festival hosted in Amsterdam. It was amongst the first winners of the festival, along with BIG’s Audemars Piguet Hôtel des Horlogers in Le Brassus, Switzerland.

The Zeitz MOCAA is a public not-for-profit contemporary art museum which collects, preserves, researches, and exhibits 21st-century art from Africa and its diaspora. The museum also plays host to international exhibitions, develops supporting educational programs, and has more than 100 galleries for the public to enjoy.

Another South African project was also recognised at the festival: Kate Otten Architects’ design of the Law on Keyes in Johannesburg. This building was “highly commended” in the Office category.

PS. #roheaward #miesvanderrohe #award #design #artitektur #hammershus #visitbornholm #bornholm #krydserfingre
