Cape Town has a lot of things to do and see, and what its locals have to offer is what transforms that enjoyment into a love for our city. Visitors return to Cape Town year after year because of the warmth, passion, friendliness, and welcoming nature of its people.
This reputation has led to Cape Town being renamed one of the top ten “friendliest cities in the world.”

Conde Nast Traveller’s Reader’s Choice list of the “friendliest cities in the world” is a competition in various categories that’s open to anyone who registers online and votes.
Mexico’s San Miguel de Allende has been named the world’s friendliest city, while Cape Town holds down the tenth spot on the list.
Cape Town also received this title in 2019, and Enver Duminy, CEO of Cape Town Tourism, said that being named one of the friendliest cities in the world signifies yet another affirmation of the Mother City’s status as a truly world-class, inclusive travel destination.
This sentiment still rings true.
Other contenders for the top 10 friendliest cities in the world are as follows:
9th place: Dublin, Ireland
8th place: Bangkok, Thailand
7th place: Copenhagen, Denmark
6th place: Reykjavik, Iceland
