Set on a secluded mountain farm in the Northern Drakensberg Nature Reserve, overlooking the Sungubala Valley, is the Sungubala Eco Camp – a self-catering camp ideal for a nature lover’s active getaway.

The Eco Camp is a great base from which to explore the greater Cavern Nature Reserve and the uKhahlamba Drakensberg World Heritage Site.

Be sure to pack in your workout clothes and running shoes: Activities include mountain biking, hiking, trail running, swimming, horse riding and birding, as well as other recreational activities.

In keeping with the eco theme, all power is solar-generated. Gas is used for cooking and water heating. With 16 units in total and various accommodation options available, Sungubala Eco Camp comfortably sleeps up to 42 people.

Indulge and unwind with an array of communal facilities available, including the boma, fire-pit, two kitchens, lounge, braai area and swimming pool, which makes Sungubala Eco Camp ideal for groups and gatherings. The entire camp can be booked for exclusive getaways.
