Cape Town summers are just glorious! People are outdoors exploring nature and taking full advantage of the warmer weather and the city’s balmy evenings. Summer is also the start of snake season in Cape Town, after all, they too appreciate a good sunbathing.
If you do find yourself out in nature this summer it’s best to be prepared just in case you happen to encounter one of Cape Town’s many slithering sun worshippers on your adventures.
According to snake expert, Tyrone Ping, the best thing to do if you’re not experienced with snakes and unable to identify which species of snake it is, would be to move slowly away from the snake and contact a trained snake remover. If you see a snake out in the mountains or wild, it’s best to leave the snake where it is and give it a wide berth to move off.
