A SAPS member deployed at Kuilsriver Magistrates’ Court arrested an attorney after he was found to be in possession of drugs yesterday, according to a media statement issued by the SAPS.

The police member was called to assist the security at the main entrance to the court as he ‘accosted a suspicious man’ at the entrance. After arriving at the entrance, the member found an unknown man in possession of suspicious parcels.
The police officer subsequently opened the parcels and discovered 79 sachets filled with cannabis sealed in ‘cling wrap plastic’ and 100 mandrax tablets were found in the attorney’s possession.
The discovery was seized as evidence and the attorney was detained on a charge of possession of drugs. The arrested attorney (41) was scheduled to represent a suspect at the mentioned Magistrates’ Court.
Once charged, he is expected to make a court appearance in the Kuilsriver Magistrates’ Court on the mentioned drug possession charge.
