According to the Yusufeyyah Masjid Committee and the Muslim Judicial Council (MJC), the Brodie Road Muslim Cemetery in Wynberg will be open for burials from today, as reported by EWN.
Sheikh Riad Fataar, the second deputy president of the Muslim Judicial Council, stated that the community had faced the challenge of limited burial space and that the reopening was timely.
‘We show thanks and gratitude to everyone when we reclaim the Brodie Road Cemetery. This is a long thing that we have been working on,’ Fataar told EWN.
Fataar went on to say that reopening this historic burial ground had not been an easy task, and he thanked everyone who had helped.
