Benguela Cove is introducing a brand new sculpture park featuring a collection by renowned sculptor, Anton Smit.

This beautiful winery and restaurant, owned by British South African Entrepreneur Penny Streeter OBE and her husband Nick Rea, is located just outside of Hermanus and is perfect for a day out on summer weekends. Sip on the estate wine while you admire the artwork or treat your family to a lunch with stunning views of the vineyards and lagoon.

Here’s a little sneak peak of what you can expect at the garden:

Widely revered for his overwhelming heads and monumental sculptures, evoking themes of suffering, reconciliation, glory and sublimation, Smit’s artworks grace public and private collections countrywide and internationally. He works with metals and stones, creating a unique iron and polymer cast mixture which combines metal with several other mediums.

The official launch of the Anton Smit Sculpture Park and Gallery at Benguela Cove will take place on October 26, 2019 and is free to attend. Those interested must RSVP by October 11, 2019.
