R&B songstress Roberta Flack passed away yesterday, 24 February 2025, at the milestone age of 88. Instead of delving into her history and ultimate passing, Cape {town} Etc has decided to focus on celebrating the life and timeless discography of Miss Flack.
Flack’s representatives confirmed her passing but refrained from disclosing her cause of death.
‘She died peacefully surrounded by her family,’ revealed the statement supplied to ABC News.
In 2022, Flack had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), an illness that ultimately resulted in the loss of her singing voice.
ALS is further known to be a progressive illness that impacts nerve cells and potentially leads to paralysis and death.
Flack had once famously said, ‘Remember, always walk in the light. If you feel like you’re not walking in it, go find it. Love the light.’
