Fans of the beloved animated series Bluey can mark their calendars as the hit theatre production Bluey’s Big Play The Stage Show is set to make its much-anticipated African debut in Cape Town this winter, Cape {town} Etc reports.
From Thursday, 26 June to Sunday, 6 July 2025, the Artscape Theatre will transform into a colourful paradise for fans of all ages. The live theatre show promises an unforgettable experience with its enchanting puppets and an array of charming music, laughter, and fun.
Bluey’s Big Play is a vibrant adaptation of the BAFTA and Emmy Award-winning series from Ludo Studio. Written by the series creator, Joe Brumm, the show features an original story that follows Bluey and her family through a full day, filled with love, laughter, and occasional mischief.
When Dad is ready to relax on a lazy Sunday afternoon, Bluey and her sister Bingo have other plans, using their imaginative games to get Dad off that bean bag and into the fun.
The stage production has garnered acclaim since its initial run in Australia, resonating with audiences across the globe, including tours in the UK, Ireland, Canada, the US, Europe, Singapore, and the UAE. Today, millions have experienced the joy of Bluey, Bingo, Mum, and Dad in this unique theatrical format.
The show is produced by BBC Studios and Andrew Kay in association with Windmill Theatre Co and the local live entertainment promoter Showtime Management.
Highlighting the magic of familial bonds, Bluey’s Big Play features larger-than-life puppets brought to life by talented puppeteers, ensuring that audience members will experience the beloved characters as never before.
In a special treat for fans, the show will also offer meet-and-greet options, allowing ticket holders to meet Bluey in person after the performance. Limited Meet & Greet upsell tickets are available, while VIP tickets include premium seating and a post-show meet-and-greet experience.
However, parents take note: children will need an adult with a valid VIP ticket to access this exclusive opportunity.
