Pinkfong’s “Baby Shark Dance” has officially overtaken “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi as the most viewed music video on YouTube, and the most viewed video on YouTube, overall.

The children’s rhyme was created by Pinkfong, who is based in the Republic of Korea, and was first uploaded to YouTube on June 17, 2016. According to the Guinness World book of Records official site, it has gained a whopping 7 042 967 886 views as of November 2, 2020.

The video has also broken the record title for the most viewed children’s music video on YouTube. The vocals on the song were contributed by 10-year-old Korean-American singer Hope Segoine.

When “Baby Shark” was first released, it became a viral sensation, but has also slowly garnered the views it has over a four-year period.

While “Baby Shark” is the most viewed video, “Despacito” is still the most liked video on YouTube. It was also the first video in the platform’s history to gain five-billion views.
