The Devil Wears Prada 2 – May 1
The month of May kicks off with the highly anticipated sequel to the 2006 classic, The Devil Wears Prada. Set twenty years after the original, this film will see the return of iconic characters like Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) and Miranda Priestly. (Meryl Streep)
Along with the return of Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt, the film will also feature Simone Ashley (Bridgerton) as a new addition to the cast.

Swapped – May 1
Netflix original animation really put themselves on the map with last year’s release of KPop Demon Hunters, and their newest project, Swapped, is set to release 1 May. Starring Michael B. Jordan, (Sinners) the animated feature follows a small forest mammal and a bird who switch bodies after colliding with a magical plant.
The pair embark on an epic journey of friendship, promising to be a great watch for kids.

Lord of the Flies – May 4
A new adaptation of William Golding’s The Lord of the Flies is set to release on Netflix this month. Produced by the BBC, the four-part series follows a group of British schoolboys who find themselves stranded on a deserted island.
The film explores themes of childhood, civilisation, as well as democracy vs dictatorship, as the boys descend into savagery as they try to build a new society on their remote island. Developed by Adolescence writer Jack Thorne, this adaptation promises to be a fresh take on the classic story.

The Punisher: one last kill – May 12
For MCU fans, Disney+ is dropping another series this month. Airing from 12 May, The Punisher: One Last Kill sees the return of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, introduced in Netflix’s The Punisher series in 2017. Given that the character is set to appear in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day film, this series is the perfect watch for Marvel fans.

Off Campus – May 13
Amazon Prime Video has a slate of new young adult content coming this year, and one of the most highly anticipated series is coming this May. Off Campus follows the story from Elle Kennedy’s popular romance novels. The series is set to feature a love story between a girl and her University’s hockey star. This show is sure to be very intriguing for fans of YA or romance.

The Mandalorian and Grogu – May 22
It’s been a while since a Star Wars film was on the big screen, with The Rise of Skywalker releasing back in 2019. A new film is coming to cinemas this May, following the iconic duo from the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian. The film is set to follow Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu (aka baby Yoda) on a new epic adventure.

Spider-Noir – May 27
Following his introduction in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018, Nicolas Cage is finally reprising his role as Spider-Noir for the first time in live-action. This is sure to be a very different take on the iconic web-slinger, taking place in a black-and-white film noir world. Coming to Prime Video this month, this film is a must-see for Spider-Man fans.
