When it comes to the art of cooking, some people just have the magic touch. A chef from the United States is turning water into wine, or rather, Mcdonald’s into a gourmet meal.
Danny Kim took to TikTok to share chef Amy Brandwein’s rendition of a gourmet meal, transforming a Happy Meal into a few pieces of tortellini. While I certainly wish I had the ability to create this kind of magic, writes Cape {town} Etc’s Lynn Cupido, many users are livid, sharing their frustration in the comments section.
So, where’s the fire? Apparently, users feel that a McDonald’s classic should be left alone!
The recipe in question calls for flour, water, salt, milk and butter before everything is whisked together to create pasta. The fries are blended in a food processor before the paste is sprinkled with salt and parmesan -yum! A range of other steps are performed to create the classic French Dish, pommes dauphine. The dish is plated up with the tortellini, and while the delicious-looking final product is a far cry from the Happy Meal at the start of the video, users have called the dish “a waste.”
“Bro all that food turned into three pieces of pasta,” one user commented.
“Or and hear me out… you buy the McDonald’s and then just eat it,” another commented.
