The landscape of South Africa’s festive season is changing – an uptick in COVID-19 cases and an ensuing second wave has meant that we’re encouraged to limit our time travelling to and from the homes of loved ones and celebrate by staying home.

While staying indoors is better for everyone, as it limits the spread of the devastating coronavirus, it may not be easy to find ways to stay entertained.

DStv may have just come out with the perfect solution. The satellite service has announced that it will make make a number of premium content available to everyone, starting from December 16. This means that content that is not necessarily included in your specific DStv package will be accessible until December 20.

“But what can you give the whole family that’s delicious yet won’t stretch your waistband, educational without giving anyone the back-to-school jitters, that’ll take you all over the world without even the slightest risk, and can bring you Capital D-drama that you can all talk about for months, without being mean to a single person? A something-for-everyone gift that’ll suit everyone’s taste will be a perfect fit, and won’t take up any space,” DStv said via its blog.

If you have subscribed to a package that is not EasyView, you will be able to access certain channels by downloading the DStv app to your phone or tablet.

This comes as the service provider is moving to push into the world of online streaming.

All channels will be accessible save for M-Net Movies 1, M-Net Movies 2 and fliekNET.
