Canal+ and Warner Bros. Discovery have reached a multi-territory agreement that will keep 12 Warner Bros. Discovery channels on DStv, easing concern for millions of viewers ahead of the New Year, reports Cape {town} Etc.

According to TechCentral, the renewal covers Africa and other regions, including both linear channels and distribution of HBO Max in some markets.
Subscribers were warned this month that a carriage deal between MultiChoice and Warner Bros.
Discovery was due to expire on 31 December 2025, risking the removal of popular channels.
MultiChoice told customers prior to the new deal that ‘the distribution agreement … is scheduled to end on 31 December 2025′ and that no new deal had been reached at that stage (MyBroadband).
The final agreement preserves a package of channels that viewers rely on for news, children’s entertainment and lifestyle programming.
The channels named in reporting include Discovery Channel, CNN International, TLC, Discovery Family, Real Time, TNT Africa, Food Network, HGTV, Investigation Discovery, Cartoon Network, Cartoonito and Travel Channel.

In a statement quoted by local media, Canal+ said the deal ‘includes the renewal of the distribution of 12 Warner Bros Discovery thematic channels across MultiChoice Group territories, with some offered exclusively.’
The move follows intense negotiations that earlier reports said stalled over price.
