As we recover from all the Eskom drama – load shedding has been nothing short of a nightmare – the Glow Festival in Cape Town could not have come at a more convenient time.
The family-friendly event will take place from 15 to 18 November. The venue is yet to be announced. The festival will showcase life-like wildlife lanterns.
A 500m trail of light will lead to an exhibit of “50 displays of 2,000 intricate lanterns with more than 100,000 LED lightbulbs and silk material.”
The festival will have amusement rides for children and adults to enjoy on top of the illumination of a fairy forest, flamingos, tulips, dinosaurs, shark lanterns and many others.
Tickets are available on the website. Book before 30 October for discounts.
The festival promises a lot of lights and action – bring a camera!
