There’s a new action-packed Hollywood blockbuster on the horizon, and it features guns, a hungry lion, a handsome lead, real South African accents, and some stunning South African landscapes.
I’m always on the hunt for a good movie and Universal Studios has recently released a trailer that looks like goodie, writes Cape {town} Etc’s Lynn Cupido. In the two minute trailer, Idris Elba appears to be squaring off against a bloodthirsty lion as he fights for survival and attempts to protect his two girls.
The trailer doesn’t give too much away, the film does look like it’s a thrilling blend between Jurassic Park and Predator. It also features one of South Africa’s favourite actors, Sharlto Copley, who apparently manages the game reserve where the ferocious lion has set up its territory.
A nail-biting trailer that features South African actors, an somewhat original premise, and the beauty of our nation? Sign me up!
The movie is directed by Baltasar Kormákur, well-known for directing Everest, and is set to roar into theatres on 19 August.
